A Travellerspoint blog

I seen it briefly and it feels like place to return. Next time I wanna learn more about Leiden for advance - it is not just a beautiful place to see but there are "issues"- very interesting history background indeed. Leiden sits on an artificial hill at the confluence of Old and New Rhine rivers. Here are: the oldest in Netherlands University, Dutch revolt against Spanish rule, Museum De Lakenhal (city culture of Leiden from the 16th century to the present day), and many others. Leiden has reputation of the "city of books" and well-known for manufacture and trade. Finally, Leiden is a birth-city of Rembrandt.
